The solution was to install a boulder retaining wall to manage the grade change and create pocket garden spaces. Above the wall, a modern sedge lawn offers a low-maintenance alternative to traditional turf, with a dry creek bed running through it. This creek bed channels stormwater from the downspouts toward the retaining wall, where water flows over the boulders and into a rain garden below. Native plants were incorporated throughout to add color while keeping the landscape low maintenance.
