Lawn in the Shade, No Problem
This homeowner had a front yard where grass wouldn’t grow due to the intense shade and would turn into a mud pit during storms. The solution was a native sedge lawn with a dry creek bed running through the yard. The front island was regraded to slope towards the dry creek bed where an infiltration trench was installed below the dry creek to collect the runoff. A stepping stone pathway with a wood bridge bisects the front yard, while connecting the front door to the mailbox.
