They Said, “I do!”

This homeowner was having their wedding in their backyard and wanted a space that would host the guests but would also be a retreat for them in the long term. The solution included a bluestone flagstone patio and a bocce ball court. To divide the space up, native little bluestem was planted to serve as a flexible barrier between the two areas. Underneath the bocce ball court is a massive infiltration trench to help deal with the stormwater. To finish off the backyard wedding/retreat, outdoor lighting was installed so they can enjoy the space in the evenings.
