1 Boulder, 2 Boulders, Many Boulders

This homeowner had a yard that lacked curb appeal and wasn’t to his liking. The solution was to create a boulder retaining wall to deal with the grade change that would create pocket gardens. Above the wall was a modern sedge lawn with a dry creek bed that bisected the lawn. The sedge lawn provided a low maintenance solution to a typical lawn. The dry creek bed takes the stormwater from the downspouts and directed towards the boulder wall where the water flows over the boulders into a rain garden. Native plants were used to create a colorful landscape that provided a low-maintenance yard.
