Let There Be Stone
This homeowner is fixing up his property and wanted a landscape that would allow him to have lower maintenance and more usable space. The solution was removing the mulch in the planting beds and replace with native river rock. The decorative rock mulch will now stay in place and not wash away in the storms. A small dry-stacked wall was built to help hold the new decorative rock in place. In the backyard, a new limestone block retaining wall was created to allow the homeowner to build a new detached garage. Addition of drainage pipes and redirecting downspouts will help direct stormwater away from the house and the new stone wall.
