Out With the Old and In With the New
This homeowner had an existing patio with stormwater issues and retaining walls that were starting to lean. They also were not happy with the aged look of the materials for the patio and retaining walls. The solution included all new retaining walls, stone steps, a grill station, seating area and a new paver patio. A new retaining wall along the outside of the area now directs the stormwater away in a bioswale. Due to a high water table, a network of french drains and drainage pipes run underneath the paver patio that drain into an infiltration trench located below the restored dry creek bed. Outdoor lighting provides the right amount of ambient lighting to safely enjoy the space at night.
